Glogster - Poster Yourself

Barely a day goes by recently where a new social networking or image host springs up, only to fade to nothing and slip past everybody because of a fundamental lack of originality!

So I found it quite refreshing to learn this morning that somebody was doing something unusual with a website! Glogster is a fantastic new way to express your mood, feelings and ideas visually. The simple and intuitive interface quickly takes you a long way beyond what could be created with basic text and videos. It’s still officially in beta - but I personally feel that it’s already as slick as it needs to be!

Happy Bloggiversary!

Birthday Cake

Well folks, today is a special day for me and my blog, which has now been online for 6 whole months! It doesn’t sound like very long, but in terms of blogging it’s quite an achievement! :D

  • I’ve written 57 posts
  • My most popular post (80,000 views) is this one
  • I’ve had 933 comments left by visitors
  • The first comment was left by Zep
  • Askimet has caught 2096 spam comments
  • I’ve got 302 feed subscribers
  • Alexa ranks me as 201,043 most popular site
  • Compete ranks me as the 267,244 most popular site
  • Technorati ranks me as the 27,786 most popular blog (with an authority score of 205)

I’d like to send heartfelt thanks to everyone who has left comments, sent me messages, or just read my blog - the feedback is what makes blogging worth all the effort, and what keeps my spirits high! :) I look forward to writing another post like this in 6 months time…

Britster Beta Invites

Old Style Clock

Things are moving quickly with Britster now - and we’re bang on target for a November 1st 2007 launch! It’s really exciting to see 6 months of hard work coming together, and being actively used by the beta team (thanks guys and gals)!

I thought it might be nice to offer an exclusive on my blog - so I’ve got fifty beta invites to give away! These will get you into the site more than two weeks before it goes public - giving you a chance to get yourself established before everybody else does!

All you need to do if you want one is leave me a comment on this post, or send me a message using my contact form. The invites will be sent on Sunday, strictly on a first-come first-served basis, and entirely at my discretion.

Spray Paint Wizard

This guy is abolutely awesome! He can create an insanely detailed piece of science-fiction artwork in less than 10 minutes! It’s almost convinced me to go and buy some cans myself… ;)

The Wonder of StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon

Ten days ago I wrote my 10 Most Stupid Client Questions Ever post - and on the same day Tara from the Graphic Design Blog submitted the article to StumbleUpon. I had no idea that she’d done this at the time though!

Over the course of the last ten days the article has received more than 32,000 views (edit: more than 45,000 as of July 1st), with about 80% of those coming from StumbleUpon users! The rest came from being on the front page of Spotplex, the Upcoming page of Digg (with 7 diggs) and the second page of Reddit - in addition to the usual traffic from Technorati and the like. At one point I was getting an alarming 10 views per second!!
