Google Overhauls Search

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6664843.stm

According to an article on the BBC website, Google is in the process of overhauling their search results page, so that it will return results from all sources - and not just web pages.

The changes should mean that blogs, news sites, video services and the like will all be included in the initial search results - although results from locations other than the usual will be tabbed off. For bloggers, I think it’s still an improvement over the ’separate searches for separate sources’ method that Google has used in the past!

Initially the changes only affect searches done on Google.com in English. Results returned in other categories, such as blogs or video, will not just be from companies that Google owns.

There’s still a bit of time left to register for the 2007 Adobe Live tour. If you haven’t been before, then let me just say that it’s definitely worth it - especially with the CS3 revolution on everyboy’s lips!

If you’re going to be at the UK event then drop me a message and let me know, and I’ll buy you a coffee / beer / small cat on the day.

Interesting Data?

In my experience, the business of data can be a pretty boring one, and I can think of about a thousand things I’d rather do than look at columns of numbers, and lists of names and addresses. It would be enough to make my hair curl, if I had any left.

I think it’s quite refreshing to see that Marketing Source (marketingsource.co.uk) - a UK company that deals in the business of direct marketing - has taken the time to make their new Flash microsite both funny and interesting.

If you’re not British then some of the jokes might not quite hit the mark, but have a look anyway for the right way to deal with an otherwise mundane subject!

Mashable Are Liars!

Not literally, obviously! But it would appear that they do stretch their words when it comes to attention-grabbing headlines! There’s definitely some terminology in this post that will be recycled to several of my current clients… ;)
