This guy is abolutely awesome! He can create an insanely detailed piece of science-fiction artwork in less than 10 minutes! It’s almost convinced me to go and buy some cans myself…

Wow! Too cool! I love how he uses all sorts of different tools to create the effects. And the newspaper on the wet paint to create the texture - interesting! The way he painted the rings around the planet, the glow on top of the pyramids, turning the can upside down to create the tail of the comet… I practically yelled “NOOO!” when he started painting over his beautiful creation in black! Now, what did the fire do at the end?
I wonder how long it took him to become that good. He should set up a live auction for the piece after he’s done with it. I bet the people who watched him create it would have a much higher appreciation (and a deeper pocket book!)
Awesome post. Street artists must be the most productive people alive.
The fire at the end was probably to a) dry the picture out and b) flash off the excess solvents. Be nothing worse if someone tucked it under their arm and wore most of it home.
Wow that guy sure is amazing! I saw a guy do something very similar on the streets of San Juan, PR - and watching the video I concluded that it was either him or his twin brother, because that much skill is not common (I think…)
That is truly impressive. It’s just stunning how talented some people are, and how they find creative ways to expand on traditional art. I never would’ve thought someone could create something so cool with spray paint!

That is definitely a skill, I can say that much.

Only got back yesterday..! My original plan was to write some content that would be published (using the Wordpress advance publishing technique) while I was away. Sadly, I completely ran out of time - and the Spray Paint article was the only thing that got posted!

I’d like to think that graphics tablets could one day be used with Photoshop to recreate the same effects. The latest Wacoms aren’t too far off though - if you’ve got the budget of a small European country to spend!

I had similar thoughts as he was doing it! I’ve decided that he must have painted the same images many times to be so sure of what he was doing!
The fire thing is a process called Heat Seal & Varnish. You basically spray the sealent on, and then burn off the alcohol content - leaving you with a highly glossy and hard-wearing finish. I’ve used the same method to seal car body artwork…

LOL! The actual end result is definitely subject to individual taste! I love sci-fi art, but my wife would kill me if I put some up around our house!
Impressive! I actually have one of those back home in Norway, though a little less insane. A guy was making them in the streets of Chania, Greece. He was almost completely covered in paint himself, and was listening to Dream Theater. Pretty funny sight

Very talented. I also saw some blogs posting about a guy who makes chalk drawings on pavements, and when you take a picture, it seems real. Will post the link when I locate it again.

Amazing. Regarding the chalk drawings Traveller mentioned, I saw a bunch of that guys sidewalk art on some blog, and it looks absolutely real.
This guy is like the spray-art version of Bob Ross (’fro-haired guy who used to do Joy of Painting who made awesome art look effortless)
