Coming Up For Air

Wow! What a week! The last seven days have been hectic to say the least, and I’m still in the thick of it now!

The good news is that Britster has finally made it to the Alpha Test phase! I’ve got a great team of testers to work with too, including several bloggers and friends. So the site should be making it’s first public appearance at the end of this month - subject to anything going chronically wrong with it before then! ;)

I’m off on holiday on the 28th though, and I’ve got a shed-load of stuff (including Britster) to get done before I vanish for a fortnight. I’m hoping to write some articles in advance though, so you lot will have something to read while I’m building sandcastles! Any suggestions?

Just one thing dude - let’s go play some pool before you disappear for a fortnight!! :-)

I too would also like to see your take on SEO, from what I’ve been reading recently it’s an absolute minefield!!

    Oh - last thing - templates!! :-p

Hi Paul, can’t wait to see britster in full action…
Hope you have a lovely holiday, somewhere sunny, away from all the British rain ;)

Robyn: Thanks! I really hope it’s a big success too! :)

Paul: I’m hoping that I can kick your behind on Sunday - subject to permission from the boss! I’ll see what I can do on SEO, and bear with me on the temps - I haven’t forgotten!

Tolumi: We’ll be staying in the country unfortunately! Travel abroad is unworkable until the kids get a bit older! However, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the summer may have arrived by then! ;)

We’re only going to Yarmouth! Two weeks in the holiday cottage of a friend of my Mother-in-law’s. It ain’t glamorous, but a break’s a break!

Am really looking forward to seeing britser. Hope you enjoy your caravan holiday in Bognor ;) Seriously, though, have a great break, and try to keep that laptop switched off.

How about writing about design in the music industry–trends, examples, that kind of thing? Have a good one.

Cheers mate! Good idea for an article - thanks! :)

Did you want in on the Britster testing by the way? I don’t recall you asking - but if you’re interested…?

    You have mail! :)

Top marks for naming the illustrator on those portraits! Not really any point in putting his name in the description - 999 out of a thousand people wouldn’t know! ;)

Hi Paul, I too hope you’ll stay away from computers on holidays. As for the post - how about posting about tracking who’s receiving email newsletters, what links they click on, etc.? You did promise writing about it. I don’t recall you posting anything about it yet, did you?
I’m vvvvery impressed by your Britster project!

You can’t track what links people click on in emails, but you can see how many people have viewed it - and yes, I did promise to write about that! I’ll see what I can do!

I’ll do my best to stay away from computers! ;)

Glad you like Britster! I can’t wait to get it properly launched, once we’ve fixed all the niggles that my awesome beta testing team have found! :)
